Fatigue and Vibration Testing System
[ Testing Equipment ]

This is a device for testing the vibration-proof performance of diverse and complicated structures in architecture and civil engineering, as well as fatigue and vibration testing in other fields.

Matching the Needs of Various Fatigue Vibration Tests

Fatigue test device, Hydract, which is made by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. This is the device for vibration proof test of architecture and civil engineering structures which are diversified and complicated, as well as fatigue and vibration testing in other fields. Starting from earthquake-resistant vibration platforms which can precisely reproduce vibrations that earthquakes cause to structures, based on the hydraulic (oil) pressure technology which has been cultivated in this field, we manufacture test devices which respond to fatigue and vibration testing needs in various fields. For example, the G simulator which recreates the car collision shock and the large size two axle test device which tests anti-seismic rubber.
As Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Machinery Systems, Ltd. is also a user of these test devices as well as a manufacturer, we consistently conduct design, manufacture and maintenance of user friendly devices from the users' perspective on the basis of our experience as a user.

Earthquake-resistant shaking table

923 Kanto Earthquake, magnitude of 7.9 and 1995 Southern Hyogo Earthquake, magnitude of 7.2.
Although the progress of electronic processors enables earthquake resistant design of complex and advanced structures, the best way to obtain greater reliability is to precisely reproduce huge earthquakes and verify findings.
At Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Machinery Systems, Ltd. we developed a world first “Three dimensional six-degree-of-freedom large size shaking table” that can simultaneously vibrate horizontally in 2 directions and vertically in 1 direction, through making full use of unique control technology and advanced hydraulic pressure technology. We have been responding to research needs in various fields such as architecture, civil engineering, machinery and electric power.
Years of experience and achievement have enabled us to manufacture and deliver a “3-D Fall Scale Earthquake Testing Facility” the world's largest shaking table ever built.

Centrifugal testing system

Mitsubishi centrifugal testing system is a device which experimentally imitates behavior at the occurrence of earthquakes and measures stress and displacement through providing test specimens with a large amount of gravity by centrifugal acceleration and providing it with vibration. Model experiment of stress and displacement which occur at large tunnels, multistoried buildings, etcetera can be conducted on the shrinking model.
The spinning bucket, arm and vibration platform are attached to the test device. The shrinking model miniature is attached to the bucket. As buckets are on both ends of the arm, 2 test specimens can be experimented at the same time.

Large scale two axis testing system

While anti-seismic rubber is adopted to prepare earthquakes for building and bridge base, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Machinery Systems, Ltd.'s large scale two axis testing system was developed for characteristics testing in the case that this anti-seismic rubber is received pressure and shear power.
Large scale two axis testing system can test anti-seismic rubber characteristics for both of architecture and bridge.
Thorough operating horizontal force of pushing and drawing in the condition of operating certain vertical force of pressure or drawing on anti-seismic rubber, loading data and displacement data can be obtained and draw a figure of ρ-δcurve based on this. Also, equivalent rigidity and equivalent attenuation constant can be calculated from measuring data.
