To the International Space Station and the Moon - Development of HTV-X -

The extension of the International Space Station (ISS) operation through 2024 has been approved and development of a successor to the H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV), HTV-X, which carries resupply cargo to the ISS has been decided. The detailed design of HTV-X is now under way. The HTV-X has ambitious specifications with the functions throughout such that can lead to future developments while maintaining the superiority of the HTV. This report describes the new design in the HTV-X and the development plan for lunar exploration, which is an international undertaking beyond the ISS.
