The PW210 is a 1,100 shaft horsepower class engine developed with advanced technologies by Pratt & Whitney Canada for a new generation of helicopters.
This engine has achieved improvement in fuel consumption, power-to-weight and environmental emissions. The PW210S engine, powering the Sikorsky S-76D, obtained type certificate in 2011 and entered into service along with the Sikorsky S-76D in 2013. The PW210A engine, powering the Leonardo's (previously known as AgustaWestland) AW169, received type certification from Transport Canada in 2014 and entered into service in 2015. MHIAEL participates as a risk sharing partner with responsibility for design, develop and manufacturing of power turbine.
