Sustainability Spark 2026

PTT Public Company Limited organized a sustainability event titled "Sustainability Spark 2026" on 16-17 January 2026 at Paragon Hall, Siam Paragon Shopping Center in Bangkok. The objective of event was to enhance knowledge and understanding of the directions, strategies, and sustainability plans of the PTT Group.

The event brought together various government agencies, PTT Group companies, industry partners, academia, and technology sector to drive sustainable business opportunities and to address national and organizational challenges toward achieving Thailand's Net Zero goal.

Sustainability Spark 2026

One of the key highlights was the "Spark X Stage", which focused on decarbonization technologies driving sustainability. The session, titled "From Technology to Traction" was held on January 16, 2026 (13:30-15:30 hrs.) in a panel discussion format. The session explored transformative technologies such as Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), and ammonia co-firing, featuring panelists from global leaders in these fields.

　

One of the panelists was Mr. Tadashi Sumida, Group Manager from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.

　

Summary
  • MHI has delivered more than 5,500 boilers worldwide. Responding to the needs of the times, we have developed and commercialized systems and burners for many kinds of fuels - coal, gas, oil, by-product gases, and waste.
  • Toward the coming ammonia society, based on our accumulated development know-how, we performed technical verification and developed burners that are high-efficiency, economical, safe, and highly reliable.
  • In burner development, our expertise in low-calorific by-product gas combustion and low-NOx coal combustion technologies were especially useful.
  • Through numerous feasibility studies, we conducted basic plant system designs and accumulated expertise not only in burner combustion but also in establishing ammonia co-firing as a complete plant system.
