The Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC), a cooperative framework was launched in March 2023. It had been proposed by then Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in 2022 as a concept for building a system to support efforts to promote the energy transition toward carbon neutrality in the Asian region while balancing economic growth and stable energy supply.
With this background and the aim of supporting Japanese companies' efforts by seamlessly implementing Japanese public support from human resource development to technology introduction, matching services, and financing; Japan Bank of International Cooperation (JBIC) Bangkok Representative Office in collaboration of the Embassy of Japan in Thailand, Association of Overseas Industrial Human Resources Development (AOTS) Bangkok Office, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Bangkok Representative Office, and New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) Bangkok Office duly launched AZEC-Smart and Advanced Value-chain for Environment Platform (AZEC-SAVE PF) as an information provision and exchange platform for promoting decarbonization investment, centered on the energy efficiency field in Thailand in April 2025.
On the 22nd July 2025, JBIC Bangkok Representative Office held a discussion with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (Thailand) Co., Ltd. on its energy-saving business and future cooperation opportunities.
