Bulletin Board Notice re Ministry of Defense’s Selection:
MHI chosen as Potential Domestic Contractor to Participate in
Manufacturing and After-servicing of JASDF's F-X

MHI received notification today that it has been selected by Air Staff Office, Japanese Ministry of Defense, as a potential domestic contractor to participate in manufacturing and after-servicing of Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF)'s F-X.

Responding to the notification, in advance of actual production commencement, MHI will enter into discussions and negotiations with overseas enterprises and take all necessary preparatory steps with regard to procedures based on Japanese laws, etc. in cooperation with Japanese Ministry of Defense.

    Since resuming aircraft productions after the war, MHI has continuously been participating as a prime contractor for JASDF fighters, having a vital role in fighter design, development, manufacture, repairs, capability improvement and operational support. From now on, through license production and operational support of F-X, MHI will utilize its knowledge acquired over a long period of time and industrial base for fighter production to contribute to the national security of Japan.
