MHPS Receives Order for Control Systems For Supercritical-pressure Thermal Power Plant in India
Order from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. (RRVUNL) for New Chhabra Station Launching in 2016

Yokohama, March 20, 2015 -- Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, Ltd. (MHPS) has received an order from Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), India, for control systems for Units No.5 and No.6 of the supercritical-pressure (Note) coal-fired Chhabra Thermal Power Station currently under construction by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. (RRVUNL), a government-operated power company in India's Rajasthan state. The order calls for two sets of core components for the turbine control and protection system (TCS/TPS), the boiler management and protection system (BMS/BPS plus flame detector), and the station distributed control system (station-DCS). Together the systems provide optimized control of high-efficiency supercritical-pressure power generation plants. Operation of the new Chhabra Thermal Power Station's Units No.5 and No.6 is scheduled to get under way in stages commencing in 2016.
