Employee Volunteers Accompany Children with Life-threatening Illnesses, and their Families, on a Memory-making Trip to Tokyo

The Hospitality Guesthouse "A Dream A Day in Tokyo" is a nonprofit organization engaged in the creation of enduring memories of enjoyment for children with incurable illnesses and their families. Its activities center on making the dreams of children with life-threatening illnesses and their families come true by organizing and planning trips for them, handling arrangements at the locations to be visited, and providing volunteers to give both medical care and sightseeing support. The MHI Group actively cooperates in this NPO's activities, and between May and September a total of 25 employees and family members participated as volunteers in three groups.

To enable the children and their families to make pleasant and enjoyable memories, the volunteers took great care to provide support by guiding them to ensure they could move smoothly even in crowded areas, arranging their tickets, and taking photos. MHI received letters of appreciation from the families who had enjoyed their trip to Tokyo, visiting sightseeing spots such as Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo Skytree and Odaiba, with comments such as, "I will never forget this trip for the rest of my life."

Based on its CSR Action Guideline to "create a more harmonious society," the MHI Group will continue to support participation in volunteer activities, each of which is an opportunity for each employee to be directly involved with society.
