MHIET Subsidiary Named Supplier of the Year by General Motors

Tokyo, July 31, 2026 - Mitsubishi Turbocharger and Engine America, Inc. (MTEA),(Note1) a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engine & Turbocharger, Ltd. (MHIET), a part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group, was selected as a 2025 General Motors Supplier of the Year by General Motors Company (GM), receiving an award at the GM 34th Annual Supplier of the Year awards. MTEA, headquartered in Itasca, Illinois, is MHIET's production base for automotive turbochargers in the United States.

This award reflects a supplier's total performance in business with GM, including management of sub-suppliers, adherence to project schedules, responsiveness to development proposals, problem-solving capabilities when issues arise, achievement of each gate(Note2) during the development phase, and high quality control to minimize market defects. This year's awards recognize 103 suppliers spanning 14 countries, selected from numerous suppliers.

This is the fourth time MTEA has received the Supplier of the Year award from GM. MTEA held weekly meetings with GM to anticipate issues and provide cross-departmental support to quickly resolve issues, striving to ensure high-quality production. This award reflects the accumulated practices made possible by the high level of expertise and teamwork shown by every employee.

In addition to Supplier of the Year, MTEA has received numerous awards from GM. On February 20, 2026, the company received the GMCCA Excellence in Performance Award from General Motors Customer Care and Aftersales (GMCCA), the division that oversees GM's customer support and after-sales service. MTEA was selected as one of 10 outstanding suppliers, reflecting a comprehensive evaluation of such factors as on-time delivery, consistent high-quality production support, and a diverse product range.

In addition to supplying mass-produced and after-sales service parts,(Note3) MTEA supports new development and future projects through regular close communication with GM, building a stable and trusting relationship. MTEA considers its strong relationship with GM, one of the world's leading OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), to contribute to society through improved product quality and greater consumer satisfaction.
