MHPS Receives order for DeNOx System for Power Plant in Spain
- Enabling compliance with tightening European Emission Controls -

Yokohama, November 10, 2014 - Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS), Yokohama Japan, received an order from HIDROELECTRICA DEL CANTABRICO, S.A. (HC), the Spanish power producer of EDP (Energia de Portugal) group, for two sets of selective catalytic reduction (SCR) type DeNOx systems for installation at the company's Power Station Abono Unit 2 and Soto de Ribera Unit 3. These high-performance systems reduce emissions of NOx (nitrogen oxides), a cause of air pollution, by more than 80 percent. The systems for Abono Unit 2 and Soto de Ribera Units 3are scheduled to go into operation in 2016 and 2017, respectively.
