Flight Training
SIMCOM by CAE
SIMCOM is the preferred training provider of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA). SIMCOM’s simulator training provides the optimum method to accomplish a comprehensive training course that includes all normal, emergency and abnormal procedures, which can be accomplished most effectively and safely in a simulator. Training is most beneficial when the pilot can experience both normal and emergency operations while responding to realistic simulation of malfunctions, flight conditions and indications, which prepare the pilot for real life emergencies.
SIMCOM, in Orlando, Florida, operates a state-of-the-art Level 5 Flight Training Device (FTD) that is capable of presenting realistic scenarios for virtually all normal, abnormal and emergency flight and ground operations for the MU-2. The FTD has been outfitted to represent most MU-2 models with Garmin G600 electronic flight display, as well as Garmin GTN-750 and GNS-430 navigation systems. SIMCOM’s Level E visual system provides 150 degree wrap around visuals. Selection of your home airport is even possible through mapping and terrain software.
SIMCOM’s instructors have many years of experience with the MU-2 and are seasoned professional instructors. They will instruct you in the flight training device as well as in your actual aircraft, meeting all FAA required training requirements. They can also provide your in-aircraft training at your home airport. Finally, SIMCOM’s instructors are available for mentoring if required by your insurance company.
14 CFR Part 91 Subpart N
Pilots that fly the MU2 are required to train and fly in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 91 Subpart N requirements. Instructors providing training for the MU2 must by approved by the FAA in accordance with Part 91 Subpart N.

Per FAA instructions, MU-2 pilots who operate U.S. registered airplanes and wish to use the online viewing method must: 1) notify their FAA Principal Inspector (PI) or the manager of the local FAA Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) before using the AMOC, 2) after completing the on-demand online viewing, have a pilot logbook endorsement completed by any MU-2 qualified flight instructor, and 3) comply with all other conditions of the Global AMOC.
