A. I contributed to improving the ORC design tool, focusing on increasing power output without increasing fuel consumption. This optimization allowed customers to generate more electricity from the same heat source, reducing reliance on the grid and enhancing energy self-sufficiency. I feel motivated when my ideas come to achieve outcomes.
How are you moving the world forward?
I work to transform wasted energy into value by turning heat sources, once considered useless, into clean electricity. Through ORC* technology, we provide practical solutions that integrate seamlessly into existing processes, without disruption. Each project means less waste, more efficiency, and a step toward decarbonization.

A. One of the most memorable and eye-opening moments I experienced at MHI Group was working on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project, as it was large-scale capture plant’s feed project to date. The site needed comprehensive winterization to ensure stable operation and protect equipment and piping from the extremely cold conditions on site, we implemented comprehensive winterization measures. This involved designing systems with proper insulation and protective enclosures to maintain functionality and safety. I also felt passionate when we achieved a key milestone under tight deadlines. I could feel the dedication of my team and support from leadership, deepening my appreciation for the role MHI Group plays in shaping the future of energy & industry.

Power grid strengthened in South Africa: Contributing as an international team
One of the moments that excited me was the first synchronization for each unit, respectively, over the past decade. It is always a very special feeling to make a significant impact on the national power availability, providing much needed relief not only for the business sector but also to individuals that require a higher energy demand to develop and grow.
Working at the Kusile site, handling state-of-the-art technology whilst working in a diverse team including multiple nationalities, was an exciting and unique experience.
Another moment that made me feel passionate was learning of the company’s vision for a carbon neutral society. I had the privilege to see the hydrogen turbine and auxiliaries during a visit to Takasago, Japan, and I was able to experience the DSN (Diamond Service Network) and see how it brings people together to discuss service business matters, such as global integration, to improve the service delivery of MHI Group.

Bridging Japan and Europe toward decarbonization: Strengthening mutual trust through cultural understanding
One of the most eye-opening moments in my career was when I realized the true meaning of being a bridge between Japan and Europe. At first, I thought my role was mainly to coordinate information and technical data, but I soon understood that communication itself was the key to succeeding as a process engineer in the decarbonization business.
When both sides began to truly understand each other’s expectations and culture, the atmosphere changed—projects moved faster, discussions became deeper, and mutual trust grew. It was then that I felt a strong sense of purpose: I wasn’t just translating words or documents, but connecting people and making progress possible. That realization gave me a passion that continues to guide my work every day.

Realizing the significant value of small contributions: Improving attitude toward work
I oversee the operation and maintenance (O&M) of automated people movers (APMs) for Dubai International Airport terminals. At first, I viewed my tasks as simple day-to-day responsibilities, but, over time, I began to see and was moved by how each action contributed to the overall success of the organization. One particular day, I saw how the work I did helped my team complete an important task successfully and on time. That experience made me truly understand the value of every contribution, no matter how minor it may seem.
It opened my eyes to the fact that teamwork and consistency create a strong foundation for success, helping me to approach my job with more awareness for the bigger picture.

Participating in a procurement network project: Noticing contributions to numerous countries
Joining the Coupa rollout project for the Supply Chain Management Department of MHI Headquarters’ Value Chain Division was a truly eye-opening experience. The introduction of this project in numerous regions outside Japan is being accelerated so that MHI Headquarters can consolidate order and payment operations, visualize various data, and operate effectively. Operating the system is complex, so our company has been put in charge of explaining how to use it, in English, after its implementation. The project gave me the opportunity to visit multiple Group companies and gain firsthand insight into their operations.
What excited me the most was seeing how interconnected each business is and how each unit contributes not only to the overall success of the Group but also to the economies of the countries in which they operate. Witnessing this synergy in action made me appreciate the scale and impact of MHI Group’s operations beyond just numbers and reports.

National project in Singapore: Becoming a leader with negotiation capabilities
One of the most significant moments in my career was the opportunity to support the ERP 2.0 project team, particularly in managing engagements with the Land Transport Authority (LTA) at the working level. The project involves seamlessly expanding the first-generation ERP system MHI Group delivered in 1998, and my responsibilities included leading negotiations related to operations, facilitating discussions in each phase, and exchanging ideas to ensure alignment and smooth progress. It was a great honor to be entrusted with such a critical responsibility, and I saw it as recognition of my ability to manage both technical matters and strategic discussions effectively. This achievement was made possible through the close collaboration between our local team and colleagues from Japan. Following that, I was given the opportunity to take on even greater responsibility as team manager for the team overseeing the large-scale transition from ERP to ERP 2.0. To be entrusted, not once but twice, to lead mission-critical components of a national project is something I carry with deep appreciation and pride.

Ensuring employee safety
One of the most passionate experiences I have had while working with Diamond WTG Engineering & Services was the implementation of personal evacuation devices. In 2013, there was a fatal wind turbine fire in the Netherlands caused by an electrical fire. This tragedy shocked the wind turbine industry.
It also gave me the opportunity to work with the Diamond Team to implement the use of personal evacuation devices for each employee to be able to immediately escape the wind turbine in the event of an emergency. This provides a significant advantage in the event of a wind turbine fire over the rescue device that can only lower two technicians at a time.

The moment of seeing a project come to life
What excites me most about working at MHI Group is seeing a project come to life. Watching the final installation and knowing I’ve played even a small part in its success always fills me with pride and passion. It’s a powerful feeling to see our products in place, providing comfort and efficiency to customers, knowing the effort and collaboration it took to get there.
That excitement isn’t mine alone—it’s shared across the team. Whether it’s a manager, technician, or engineer attending the site at completion, their smiles say it all. Every project represents the culmination of months of teamwork, problem-solving, and dedication. When we finally reach that moment of completion, it’s more than just another job done—it’s a reminder of what we can achieve together.
