Three MCO Employees Pass Special Grade Skills Certification!

March 1, 2025

In the 2024 Autumn-Winter National Skill Test, three Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor Co. Ltd. (MCO) employees—Daisuke Saihara, Yusuke Matsuda, and Daisaku Nakamura—demonstrated the expertise and knowledge they’ve developed through their daily work and successfully passed the highly challenging “Special Grade” certification.

Comments from the Successful Candidates

Daisuke Saihara
Compressor Assembling Team, Production Branch, Assembling & Shop Test Section, Production Division
I passed the Special Grade Skills Certification in the Finishing category. The exam covered a wide range of topics beyond the assembly work I’m familiar with, including quality and production management, so studying was quite challenging. Still, the preparation period was very rewarding, and I’m deeply grateful to everyone who supported me along the way. Moving forward, I plan to apply the knowledge gained from this certification to enhance on-site capabilities, including training junior colleagues.

Yusuke Matsuda
Compressor Assembling Team, Production Branch, Assembling & Shop Test Section, Production Division
Driven by a desire to improve my skills and follow in the footsteps of senior colleagues who passed this certification, I decided to pursue the Special Grade Skills Certification in the Finishing category. Studying within a limited timeframe was tough, but thanks to the support of my workplace and understanding from my family, I was able to dedicate myself fully. I don’t see this certification as an endpoint; I will continue striving for higher goals and work to apply what I’ve learned back in the workplace.

Daisaku Nakamura
Supervisor in Rotor Assembling Team, Production Branch, Assembling & Shop Test Section, Production Division
I am very happy to have passed the Special Grade Skills Certification in Finishing and to have redeemed myself after not making the grade last year. The Special Grade represents the skill level expected of managers and supervisors. Although I currently serve as deputy supervisor and have an intuitive grasp of many aspects, fully understanding and correctly applying the knowledge was quite challenging. There were many things I didn’t fully understand at first, so I carefully researched, studied, and memorized each point, which ultimately led to my success. Going forward, I plan to use the knowledge gained from this experience to carry out my supervisory duties with a broader, well-rounded perspective.
