Methanol Plant

Methanol

Methanol is a basic chemical which is produced from natural gas. It is primarily used as a raw material for products such as formalin, acetic acid, and gasoline additives. It is expected to be utilized in an even broader range of industries in the future, including as a raw material for biodiesel and DME (dimethyl ether), and as a fuel for fuel cells.

Compressor for methanol gas synthesis

As methanol plants expand in size, as do the corresponding synthesis gas compressors.
Synthesis gas compressors are essential to the success of a methanol plant so in order to meet such critical needs of plant owners, MCO has developed technologies for highly efficient, large centrifugal compressors and steam turbines.

Methanol Plant Steam Turbines

As methanol plants expand in size, as do the corresponding synthesis gas compressors which are at the heart of these plants. Many large-capacity steam turbines use double-flow types for the exhaust rotor casing.
However, MCO uses a single-flow type exhaust rotor casing that makes use of titanium alloy rotor blades in the low-pressure turbine, resulting in a more compact design.
