Employee Volunteers Accompanied Children with Life-threatening Illnesses, and their Families, on Memory-making Trips to Tokyo

The visitors paid enjoyable visits to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. To enable the children and their families to create pleasant and happy memories, the volunteers took great care to provide support by guiding them to ensure they could move smoothly even in crowded areas, arranging their tickets, and taking their photos. After their visits, MHI received letters of appreciation from the families. "Thanks to the volunteers, we were able to pass the time enjoyably and safely," wrote one parent. "We are very grateful to everyone who put a big smile of happiness on our daughter's face," commented another.

On February 23, MHI's employee volunteers received the "3rd Corporate Volunteer Award" from the Tokyo Voluntary Action Center (TVAC), a nonprofit organization under the aegis of the Tokyo Council of Social Welfare. The award was presented in recognition of the employees' contributions to nurturing a culture of volunteering in Tokyo.

Based on its CSR Action Guideline to "create a more harmonious society," the MHI Group will continue to support employees' participation in volunteer activities of various kinds, to give them valuable opportunities to be directly involved with society.
