The GART / GART-I Series offer cooling capacities ranging from 500 to 5,400 refrigeration tons*. By refining the shape of compressor impeller blades and improving the structure of heat exchangers, the series offers the world's highest energy efficiency performance by COP ** rating, providing 6.5(JIS)/7.0(AHRI). Improved adaptability to load fluctuations means high efficiency is realized even at partial loads, which make up a significant part of operation time under actual conditions. To make the chillers more compact MHI Thermal Systems reduced their volume and footprint, for example by arranging components to make more efficient use of vertical space.

MHI Thermal Systems is the leading Japanese manufacturer of centrifugal chillers, supplying a large number of air conditioning units for key industries.

The Grand Prize for Excellence in Energy Efficiency and Conservation honors advanced technology and products that boost energy efficiency. Since its launch in 1990 it has sought to increase awareness and promote adoption of energy efficient products.

MHI Thermal Systems is delighted to have received this award and is working on the development of further technologies and products that spur energy efficiency. The company will continue its efforts to realize optimal thermal solutions that meet the diverse needs of customers. To this end, MHI Thermal Systems is utilizing its integrated technical strengths and synergies across business areas such as centrifugal chillers, air conditioners and transport refrigeration units.

*: 2,700 refrigeration tons or more can be delivered with parallel operation (two compressors).
**: COP is an abbreviation of Coefficient of Performance. The higher the value, the more energy efficient.
Calculated based on JIS and Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) standards. COP = rated cooling capacity (kW) ÷ power consumption (kW).
