MHI Compressor International Corporation to Supply Turbomachinery for Shintech's PEP-2 Ethylene Plant
MHI Compressor International Corporation (MCO-I) has been selected to provide critical turbomachinery solutions for Shintech's PEP-2 project, a new 625 KTA ethylene plant in Plaquemine, Louisiana. The project further expands MCO-I's presence along the U.S. Gulf Coast while supporting one of the region's significant petrochemical manufacturing investments. Operations are expected to begin in 2030.
The new facility will produce ethylene exclusively for use within Shintech's VCM manufacturing operations that supports Shintech strengthening the integrated production. MCO-I will provide turbomachinery equipment for the facility through the combined expertise of MCO Hiroshima and MCO-I Houston, reinforcing the company's commitment to delivering reliable, high-performance solutions for large-scale petrochemical applications.
The project represents another important milestone for MCO-I, as it continues to support major capital projects across North America and expands its role in the ethylene market.
