Development of fuel pellet performance evaluation technology
It is desirable to reduce the release of fission product (FP) gas from fuel pellets in order to suppress the increase in internal pressure of fuel rods during fuel irradiation. Therefore, in order to evaluate the characteristics of fission product gas release from pellets, we are developing an evaluation technology of microstructures such as pores and crystal grains in pellets.
