Development of strain measurement method for fuel cladding tubes using digital image correlation (DIC)
The digital image correlation (DIC) visualizes the change in strain distribution by recording the change in the pattern on a specimen, which has been randomly patterned on the surface beforehand, during a strength test and analyzing it by DIC.
Applying this method to fuel cladding tubes, we use it for research and development focused on cladding tube strength.
