Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group company, today has updates its vision, “Marine Future Stream”, for the first time in three years.

Marine Future Stream describes a future where humanity coexists with the oceans, which cover 70% of the Earth, with the keywords "safe and secure society" and "decarbonized marine society" for 2050. From this vision, we generate innovations related to the sea and realize them by backcasting. Mitsubishi Shipbuilding is working towards achieving a safe and secure future for society through three initiatives: "Digitalization of the Maritime Industry", "Acceleration of Offshore Resource Development and Utilization" and "Enhancement of User Experience on the Ocean". Additionally, to realize decarbonization of the maritime economy, we are focusing on "Decarbonization of Ships", "Expansion of Renewable Energy Utilization" and "Implementation of CCS/CCUS(Note1)." This update reflects the latest social conditions and the progress of Mitsubishi Shipbuilding's technologies and product development.

Furthermore, in conjunction with the update of Marine Future Stream, we have revamped the design of our pamphlet. The concept portrays Mitsubishi Shipbuilding as "One Island" floating in the vast ocean, with our business areas represented around it. This symbolizes our strong commitment to contribute to the further development of the maritime industry by providing a diverse range of products and services through our dual focus on shipbuilding and engineering from the present to the future.

MHI Group is currently pursuing strategic measures to strengthen its business for the energy transition. Mitsubishi Shipbuilding is playing a part in this effort and has set a growth strategy called “Marine Future Stream” aimed at the maritime and ocean sectors. We are committed to achieving a "safe and secure society" and a "decarbonized marine society" by integrating a wide range of partnerships and technologies from different fields, centered around the maritime industry. By collaborating with customers and partners in the maritime sector to envision this future, we will contribute to solving industry challenges through the development and provision of products, technologies, and services.
