Summary of Nuclear Operator Emergency Action Plan modified

Operator Emergency Action Plan under the provisions of Article 7, paragraph 1 of the Act on Special Measures Concerning Nuclear Emergency Preparedness has been modified on December 13, 2013.

Summary of Nuclear Operator Emergency Action Plan is shown below (in Japanese).

Before modification

If 5μSv/h is detected for more than 10 min, in succession at any monitoring post, Article 10 event announcement (disaster warning position) shall be released. If 500μSv/h is detected at any monitoring post, Article 15 event announcement (declaration of emergency position) shall be released.

After modification

If 5μSv/h is detected at any monitoring post, Article 10 event announcement shall be released instantly. If 5μSv/h is detected, for more than 10 minutes in succession at any monitoring post or 5μSv/h is detected, at any two monitoring posts, Article 15 event announcement (declaration of emergency position) shall be released.
In addition, the detection levels multiplied by 100 times as a compensation factor at any air exhaust outlet or exhaust water outlet are diminished.
