Tokyo, October 31, 2025 — Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group, conducted a factory tour for students of Okaeda Elementary School at the Enoura Plant of MHI’s Shimonoseki Shipyard & Machinery Works in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
The tour was organized to build upon the preliminary class held at the school on October 24, allowing students to deepen their understanding by observing actual shipbuilding operations. A total of 13 fifth-grade and 20 sixth-grade students participated, witnessing the dynamic shipbuilding process up close and gaining firsthand experience of the scale and intensity of the work.
In addition, the students toured the interior of the large car ferry Keyaki, which held a christening and launch ceremony on April 29. They showed great interest in the ship’s structure and onboard facilities, making the visit a valuable learning opportunity.
MHI Group will continue to actively promote initiatives that convey the appeal of manufacturing as part of its efforts to contribute to local communities and support the development of the next generation.
