Exhibited at the “Shimonoseki Future Creation Job Fair” — Showcasing the Appeal of Shipbuilding to Local Junior and Senior High School Students
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries(MHI) Shimonoseki Shipyard & Machinery Works in Yamaguchi Prefecture participated in the “Shimonoseki Future Creation Job Fair” held on August 6 and 7.
The “Shimonoseki Future Creation Job Fair” is a career experience event aimed at junior high school students, high school students, university students, their guardians and so on. It introduces local companies and organizations in an accessible manner and provides opportunities to experience the appeal of various professions and their connection to the local community, helping participants understand the meaning of work and envision their future careers.
Led by employees of Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a part of MHI Group, the booth featured a variety of engaging programs designed to deepen understanding of shipbuilding. These included ship design and construction using 3D CAD software, a virtual tour of vessels built by the company using Virtual Reality (VR) technology, and a shipbuilding themed quiz. Throughout the two-day event, many people visited the booth, gaining hands on experience in shipbuilding and discovering the appeal of working at Mitsubishi Shipbuilding and in the maritime industry.
