Aircraft Engine Combustor Completed at New Plant First Shipment Made in Nagasaki!

A shipping ceremony was held on July 2 following the completion of the first combustor at MHIAEL’s Nagasaki Plant. The Nagasaki Plant was launched in November last year to produce PW1100GJM engine combustors for the Airbus A320neo, the best-selling aircraft for domestic and short-haul flights, which are expected to recover quickly following the pandemic. Shipping the first products in such a short period of time, a mere eight months after opening, is a remarkable achievement in aeroengine parts production, which requires advanced production control and various certifications. On the occasion of this memorable event, our client Pratt & Whitney sent us a congratulatory message and expressed their hopes for a stronger partnership.
