Tokyo, Japan, April 10th, 2014 - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Marine Machinery & Engine Co., Ltd. (MHI-MME) gave a presentation to the visitors, such as shipowners, shipbuilders and energy-related companies in a specially prepared presentation room during Gastech 2014, at KINTEX (Seoul, Korea) from March 24 through 27. MHI-MME introduced updates to the UST (MHI Ultra Steam Turbine Plant)for LNG carriers.

Gastech is an event whereby people involved in natural gas industries are able to congregate. Hundreds of booths held exhibitions and various conferences were held during this event. Visitors learned about our latest UST orders and the difference between UST and other propulsion systems, such as engines.
The adoption of a reheating cycle, a field in which the company has a strong track record in onshore commercial power generation plants, results in almost 15% improvement of fuel efficiency compared to conventional steam propulsion plants, making MHI USTs more economical and environmentally compatible.

MHI-MME aims to more proactively pursue energy saving UST marketing to contribute to increasing LNG carriers' transport efficiency.
