Licensed MET turbochargers manufactured by Mitsui E&S Co., Ltd. (President: Takeyuki Takahashi; Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter “Mitsui E&S”), which was granted a manufacturing and sales license by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Marine Machinery & Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “MHI-MME”) in 2022, have reached a cumulative production milestone of 100 units.
The milestone 100th unit is the MET66MB II model, which is scheduled to be installed on a 6G80ME-C10.5-LGIM-EGRTC marine engine currently under construction by Mitsui E&S. This engine is a methanol-fueled dual-fuel engine.
To date, Mitsui E&S has steadily expanded its production capability for MET turbochargers, supported by reliable manufacturing quality and a stable supply chain.
Going forward, the company will progressively expand licensed production to additional MET turbocharger models, thereby enhancing its ability to support a wider range of engine lineups. MHI-MME and Mitsui E&S will continue to strengthen their collaboration to drive the development of next-generation marine engines and turbocharger businesses, in order to respond to the evolving needs of the global marine industry.
