This robotics system is an achievement of a project that the National Research Institute of Fire and Disaster of Japan’s Fire and Disaster Management Agency initiated for R&D into firefighting robots to assist in energy facility and industrial infrastructure disasters. MHI was in charge of the water cannon and hose extension robots and overall systems engineering for this system.
