Creating Together, Shaping Smiles
Under the theme “Creating Together, Shaping Smiles”, MHI-ESA volunteers and the girls from Marymount Centre came together to make their own heart-shaped pottery trinket dishes, turning simple clay into personalized keepsakes.
Guided by pottery instructors, participants added their personal touches to each piece, bringing their individual ideas to life. Working side by side, volunteers and the girls exchanged ideas, supported one another and shared moments of laughter throughout the session.
Beyond the finished pieces, the workshop offered an opportunity to strengthen connection, discover new skills, and create lasting memories through a meaningful shared experience.
Building Connections Beyond the Workshop
The experience continued beyond the workshop, as MHI-ESA arranged lunch and ice cream for the girls and volunteers to enjoy together.
After a morning of creativity and learning, the shared meal provided a relaxed setting for everyone to unwind, exchange stories and get to know one another better. The ice cream treat added a cheerful touch to the gathering, bringing smiles and creating more opportunities for casual conversations.
These simple moments of companionship were just as meaningful as the workshop itself, allowing volunteers and the girls to strengthen their connections beyond activities and enjoy each other’s company in a warm and welcoming environment.
Creating Meaningful Moments Through Stand by U
The pottery workshop marked another chapter in MHI-ESA’s ongoing relationship with Marymount Centre, building on previous community initiatives that have brought employees and children together through shared experiences.
While each pottery piece reflected its creator’s imagination, the morning’s significance extended beyond the artwork itself. It was found in the time together, the encouragement exchanged and the opportunity for everyone to learn from one another.
Embodying the spirit of Stand by U, MHI-ESA remains committed to creating opportunities for its people to contribute beyond the workplace, nurturing meaningful relationships and bringing care, creativity and companionship to the communities and us.
