MHI holds workshop at Kinahaiya Ikata Festival in Shikoku

On July 30, the Shikoku Branch (Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture) of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) hosted a workshop entitled "Let's make cardboard craft animals!" at the annual Kinahaiya Ikata Festival held in the town of Ikata in Ehime Prefecture, Shikoku. The class was conducted as a booth in Yonden (Shikoku Electric Power Co.) Fureai Square.

On the day of the event, many children visited the booth and made cardboard craft together with Shikoku Branch staff, choosing from five kits; rabbit, panda, Hercules beetle, rattling piggy bank, and tissue box truck. The children could be seen smiling with satisfaction as they completed their original creations with masking tape and marker pens.
We hope that the children who participated in the workshop will be inspired to take an interest in monozukuri - the traditional Japanese concept of craftsmanship.

Going forward, MHI will continue to convey the fun of monozukuri to children as part of our contributions to our local communities and the development and support of future generations.
