On Wednesday, October 26, 19 Sagamihara Manufacturing Works employees who joined the company this fiscal year conducted "Corporate Forestry Program" activities at Nagatake, Midori Ward, Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture in order to raise awareness of conservation of the natural environment as part of CSR activities.

On the day, after receiving an explanation from Kanagawa Prefecture officials about forestry conservation initiatives, the employees undertook tree thinning work under the guidance of forest instructors.

The new employees who participated commented, "I experienced things I don't experience normally and deepened my awareness of the natural environment," and "I felt the responsibility to think about living in harmony with local nature."

Sagamihara Manufacturing Works conducts these activities with the aim of raising employee awareness of conservation of the natural environment as part of the "Kanagawa Water Source Forestry Program," organized by Kanagawa Prefecture – a partner of the Works. Similar activities have been held 20 times in total since 2009.

The MHI Group will continue to proactively engage in community-based social contribution activities based on the CSR Action Guidelines "Care for the planet" and "Create a more harmonious society."
