Since last year five Mitsubishi Group companies, including Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI), have launched internship programs accepting students from Brazil, in line with an initiative introduced by the Brazilian Government to support overseas study by that country's students at the college and graduate school level who are majoring in the sciences. Last year students in the program were invited to tour MHI's Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works. This year, on September 1 (Tue) a total of 20 Brazilian students were invited to the Tobishima Plant of the Nagoya Aerospace Systems Works to tour around the facilities dedicated to commercial aircraft and space-related business. Given this rare opportunity to see where MHI's launch vehicles are manufactured, the students excitedly asked numerous questions.

On September 4 (Fri), the students gave presentations including reports on their internships, and a reception was held to celebrate the completion of their program in Japan, attended by representatives of the various companies where they had interned. The reception was an extremely genial occasion, and the speeches given by the students were enthusiastically received, making for a very impressive end to their internships.
